John Connatty and I dj on alternate Thursdays, which promises to bring you some variety, since although we have similar tastes in music we each have our own distinctive DJ style.

19:00-23:00 Pasional Milonga Pasional in Cambridge

MILONGA PASIONAL

Pasional runs every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of each month.

Pasional is the first milonga in the world with a resident DJ (DJ Os) DJ-ing and steaming directly from Buenos Aires for an audience 7000 miles away!

Pasional is a not just another milonga in Cambridge: it is a dynamic cultural experiment aiming to build a cultural bridge between dancers and tango aficionados in Europe and Argentina and to allow everyone to get a deeper understanding of what Tango is all about by talking to some of the protagonists, people from Argentina, professional dancers from Salon to Escenario, teachers, musicians, DJ's and others and discussing about their own experiences.

We believe that by understanding better what's going on in Argentina where the heart of tango is beating, by looking into tango as a cultural expression of the fusion of several cultures we may all be able to enhance our own personal experience of Tango.

Please visit http://tangueando.net/pasional/ for event details and more info

What is Tango?

TANGO is a dance conversation between two people. You and a dance partner can express musical moods through improvised movements.  You can dance simple tango after one lesson, but spend a lifetime developing your own dancing.

Tango originated in the “Rio de la Plata” at the turn of the last century.  Tango was born within the immigrant and lower class communities in this area.  During the next few decades tango spread throughout South American society and then throughout the world.  Tango communities exist in most countries of the world, and more are being born all the time.
